TV: Greys Anatomy

If I lay, if I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world...

One of those things that we couldn't escape no matter how hard we tried. This was another show that when first started i had no room for on my very busy TV schedule, but once again having nothing to fill the time with whilst my regular shows were on a break my friend suggested i take it up. After being forced into watching two episodes i went home and willingly pressed play and only stopped to shower. Now i can proudly say im a certified Grey's Anatomy fan. I'll do my best to break down the magic for you that has captivated me and many others before me. So hitch up your scrubs, sit down and pay attention.

Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) is a twenty-something year old about to start her internship at Seattle Grace Hospital, and from the first day when she discovers that the guy who's name she barley remembers from last night is a doctor at the hospital, she knows the next few years aren't going to be easy. But as with all good medical dramas she's got a secret outside of the hospital. What makes it even trickier is that its about her own mother who used to be a legend in the exact hallways she works today.
Meredith isn't the only intern starting at Seattle Grace and its almost like we're watching a bunch of over eager students in high-school. Christina Yang (Sandra Oh) is the annoying know it all that everyone cant help rolling their eyes at, George O'mally (T.R Knight) the sweet innocent one that has a crush on the popular girl. Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) The breath taking blonde that just wants to be taken seriously and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) Your standard everyday slimy bully.

Of course you cant have a school and students without teachers, and with students battling for surgeries as opposed to A's. The teachers know they have all the power but try not to have favourites but you can always predict the inevitable.
Head teacher, or in this case Chief of Surgery and Boss of Seattle Grace would be Richard Webber. He's been at the hospital a long time and even interned there himself so its no surprise that some of his secrets are still hiding under the guernseys.
When we are first introduced to Miranda Bailey, she's a tough hard as nails surgeon and mentor that constantly reminds her new batch of students that they're the bottom of the food chain. As time goes on however she sympathises for the interns and no matter how hard she tries to resist, they keep pulling her back in.

There are a few more people i could introduce you too but i think that's enough said for today, do yourself a favour if your a fan of hospital drama and tune in to at least the first three episodes. If the show hasn't got you hooked by then....well i guess you need surgery.
As the seasons progress characters come and go, stories deepen and lies strengthen and its all under the roof of Seattle Grace Hospital, and when your working 14hours or more a day with the same people its only a matter of time before everyone in the hospital is giving you the stink eye for something your don't even know you've done yet. Its Greys Anatomy.

Scre4m

Now I can't be very helpful or forth coming about the similarities and differences between this new Scream movie and its three predecessors'. Mainly because this is the first time I have even watched a Scream movie. Yes yes I know, put the rotten fruit down, its not the end of the world. Yet. Just enjoy my fresh eyed review.

The start of the movie is quite clever. As it comically eases you into the film itself, as on the fifteenth anniversary of the last town murders Ghostface rears his ugly head once more and kills to unsuspecting teenage girls. The following day Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) arrives back to her home town to promote her new book, and is greeted with a more than warm welcome. Her appearance raises a red flag, that and some circumstantial evidence makes her the lead suspect so she is trapped once again in Woodsboro.

Whilst in town she stays with her aunt and cousin, Kate and Jill Roberts. Jill (Emma Roberts) is this rounds new protagonist who is not only going through a tough time in her relationship, but now has the added worry that Ghostface has her on speed dial. Having thrice been his rag doll, Sidney does her best to help Jill defend herself and her friends who the masked murderer also seems to have taken an interest in. She puts in a call to an old friend to speed up the mystery.
Town Sheriff Dewy Riley (David Arquette) and now wife Gail Weathers-Riley (Courtney Cox), have regular marital problems, Dewy seems to be happy with small town life and his role as sheriff, whilst Gail is pulling her hair out with writers block and the monotony of Woodsboro. Unsurprisingly she's more than happy to have Ghostface return.

Research tells me that Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette reprise their roles for a fourth -and lets hope final - time as history repeats itself in the town of Woodsboro.
Though in all fairness, the town does seem to be taunting Ghostface, as the anniversary seems more like a celebration as the seemingly horrific events that left numerous people killed is some what of a town gimmick and helped to kick-start a movie franchise. Its no wonder that Ghostface is back, can you really blame him? The towns asking for it.
I'm not sure if I have already mentioned that I don't tend to watch a lot of Horror flick because I cant take them seriously and I don't jump. By the end of the viewing I am usually left dissatisfied and annoyed but I have to say I left this movie in high spirits and pains in my side as this film made me Scream with laughter the whole way through.

TV: Boy Meets World

Wondering down this road that we call life...

So there i was, having a bit of a lag cause all of my shows were finishing; Glee, Vampire Diaries, 90210 and so on and so forth, and i needed something to fill the gap between movies. I thought to myself; What would you like to watch? The answer came to me in less than a minute. Boy Meets World, one of my all time favourite shows from the beloved 90's

My love for this show is mostly based on the fact that you watch these characters grow up, and you see all their trails and triumphs which really helps you become emotionally attached to the show and to empathise with them regardless of their fictionality.

Cory Matthews played by Ben Savage is the main character of the series. In the beginning Cory - aged 10 - is personified as the lazy slacker and mischief maker, taking the short cut whenever possible. He does however have a good heart and cares a lot about other people and what's right and wrong.
As the years go by he is more of an eccentric hypochondriac in a hilarious adorable way, these traits don't hold him back from discovering the meaning of life love and the true meaning of friendship. I realise how soppy this all sounds but the transition from him him being a brillo headed 10 year old boy to him becoming a mature-ish adult is so smooth that you don't see it coming until you're teary eyed at the last episode.
Rider Strong plays best friend Shawn Hunter, who along with Ben Savage is the only character to be in all  158 episodes. Shawn is the rebellious bad boy all stemmed from a life childhood filled with abandonment and disappointment from both parents, but the Matthews are like a second family and have all helped him to stay on the right path through the years. Topanga Lawrence, the girl next door played by Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle who plays Eric Matthews  Cory's older but not much wiser brother help to complete our main cast members but these kids would be nowhere without their teacher and mentor Mr George Feeny.

As the story progresses we meet new characters and we lose favourite ones but the main cast stay intact and that's another reason why this show was such a 90's icon. I think i've given enough away to at least make you curious and take a chance at the first few episodes. Don't be put off by them being 10 in the first season, they're loveable none the less and like all kids they grow up fast.
