Sisters Anna (Idina Menzel) and Elsa (Kristen Bell) once thick as thieves have grown apart over the years due to Anna's secret and uncontrollable power over ice. The distance has altered them both as Anna becomes reserved and reclusive, living in constant fear of being discovered and injuring those closest to her. Elsa on the other hand, being the younger of the two and after years of being shunned and without friends, is left open and impressionable, but still harbours faith in her sister and the way they once were. Though their personalities may be polar opposite their love for each other and Arendelle, the country they rule over remains strong.
When Anna flees in panic after her powers are discovered and leave their kingdom in a state of constant winter, Elsa goes in search for her with the help of Ice Seller Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and his questionable but cute best friend Sven.... who happens to be a reindeer. Naturally trouble and fun follow our mismatched adventurers as they search for the Ice Queen.
Though this film has it's funny moments, I felt the majority of the comic element stemmed from the characters personalities themselves as opposed to a forced one liner every now and then. Olaf the snowman comes to mind in this description, the naive and ever jubilant figure, voiced by Josh Gadd captured the spirit of beauty in winter and innocence of the simplicity of life.
With none of that cheesy and blatantly predictable Disney life lessons this film is impossible not to be loved by all. The music is comic, sweet and within reason, making downloading the soundtrack as soon as you get home a guilty and acceptable pleasure, allowing you to relive the film again and again.
